We ventured out to Mexico, Playa Del Carmen for two weeks and it was by far the best holiday and experience I've ever had. Exploring the different sceneries to deep in rain forest, climbing through ruins, white sand beaches, swimming through caved cenotes and walking down beautiful pastel towns.
The wildlife here is beyond anything i've ever seen, although I can imagine there is so much more to see in other places, It's definitely something I noticed. Even as simple as having many lizards running around everywhere I was totally amazed, I will try and name all the animals photographed. Definately a shame I did not managed to photograph the small catfish found in the cenotes, monkeys or crocodiles however.
If you are planning a visit I would highly recommend exploring the places I've mentioned underneath my photographs. Ensure you do your research upon doing your own planned trips and perhaps if you are unsure try booking trips to ruins and scuba diving through your hotel if possible. We caught the local vans to and from the town however you have to be quite brave to catch these. It invloves knowing the stops to get off, waving down white vans on the main road (mainly filled by one main road to every town) Also driver running the buses most likely will not speak English. However much cheaper to do it this way rather than through taxi.
To explore open or caved cenotes is a must when in Mexico, Yucatan. To carry these out I would organise group visits, this way normally buses to and from are included as most cenotes are in rural places. One we visited was in the rain forest in a Myan village. Beautiful however the roads are very bumpy so ensure you take travel sickness tablets !!
I could go on about tips and tricks when visiting so if you have any more questions I am more than happy to chat.
Please enjoy these a few favourites of the hundreds of images I captured during my travels.
